John O. Burdett has a wealth of business experience as a senior human resource executive on both sides of the Atlantic. As a consultant, he has extensive international experience. He is best known for his 4-D approach to leadership; strategy as story; and wide-scale, organization culture change.

John holds a Doctoral degree in Management Development and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (UK). He lives in Toronto.

A recipient of the prestigious “Coach of the Year” from FINTRA (Finland), John received a teaching excellence award for his work on the executive programs at the University of Toronto. His teaching on the Executive MBA at the Helsinki University of Technology and the senior executive programs at the Helsinki School of Economics received like feedback.

John’s book on executive integration New Role, New Reality (2000) was shortlisted as book of the year by the US Society of Human Resource Management. Leaders Must Lead! (2003) reached #3 on the Books for Business best-seller list. Myth, Magic, Mindset: a template for organizational culture change (2008) was a top 3 bestseller in the Globe and Mail list of business books. Without Breaking Stride: moving successfully into your new role came out in April 2009, and is available in several languages and in use in twenty plus countries. John’s new book, My Homework Ate the Dog: Leadership in an upside down world (2011) is in it's second printing. A new book is in the works.
